Nepal School of Social Work (NSSW) is a not for profit joint venture of Department of Social Work , Kadambari Memorial College of Science and Management, Department of Rural Development, Nepal College Development Studies and Department of Development Studies, Tulsi Mehar Memorial College initiated by the Sutra Centre for Development Education and Research. We at Nepal School of Social Work “envision a just and humane society. The school strives to create a future society, where ignorance, inequality, ill health, illiteracy, poverty and powerlessness shall have been eradicated and equitable development takes place through achieving an equal access to education to all the members in the society”. Department of social work at Kadambari Memorial College of Science and Management established in 2005 in affiliation with Purbanchal University. Over the years the department has been successful in crafting linkages with local, national and international agencies. The college is the only institution in Nepal received a full regular membership with Asian and Pacific Association of Social Work Education (APASWE) and Inter National Association of Schools of Social Work (IASSW). Today the department of social work at Kadambari College is a leading centre for social work education, research and training in Nepal. The social work program offered by Kadambari College is a six semester (3 years), with a total of 90 credits hours leading to a degree in Bachelor of social work (BSW). In addition to class room training, field practicum, Block field work and Rural and Urban camps are inherent element of Bachelor of social work training at Kadambari College. In each semester the students choose a setting of their choice to conduct the field practicum. Students are placed for field work practicum in different agencies and are expected to complete 400 hours of supervised field practicum. In addition the students are also engaged in public campaigns and organize different awareness programs in and out of the Kathmandu Valley.
